Obituary for Benjamin Jerry Bowcut

Benjamin Jerry Bowcut

Our sweet Benjamin Jerry Bowcut returned to the loving arms of his Heavenly Parents on Monday, November 16, 2020. Even though he only lived five short months on this earth, his light and love have made an impact that will last forever in the lives of everyone who was blessed to know him.

Baby Benny was often referred to as our “angel baby” because he was so wonderfully perfect. He hardly ever cried, and when he did, he still somehow kept a smile on his face. He was happy, observant, thoughtful, and loving. We knew from the moment he was born that he was special, and he continued to show us that each and every day. He had such a tender heart that was sensitive to his brother’s and sister’s feelings. Whenever they were upset, he became upset because he didn’t want to see them sad. He loved being around them and watching them play. Isaac and Zoey loved him very much as well, and we know he will be a guardian angel to them throughout their lives.

Benny’s smile could light up a room. He loved connecting with people and made every day brighter. His laugh was one of the greatest sounds in the world, and we are so thankful for the time we were able to love him on this earth. Even though our hearts ache for just one more cuddle or smile from our sweet angel boy, we are grateful for the time we had and the love we experienced through him, together as a family. “The only way to take sorrow out of death is to take love out of life.” President Russell M. Nelson

Our family is rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ, and we know that because of Him, we will see our sweet Benny again someday. We know that because of Him, this painful separation is only temporary because He has overcome death. We know that because of Him, families are forever and we will be reunited someday. We know that through Him, our tears can be wiped away and our hearts can be healed by His grace. Because of Him, this is not the end. Because of Him, our love for and connection with our sweet Benny is eternal.

Benjamin is survived by his parents, Tom and Tiffany, who love him more than words can express and feel so blessed to have been his earthly daddy and mommy. He is also survived by his big brother Isaac, his big sister Zoey, his loving grandparents and great-grandparents, and many, many family members and friends who loved him and were touched by his short, precious life. Even though he didn’t have the chance to meet them while on earth, Benny is also survived by his brother Matthew and sister Emily in Italy. Benjamin is preceded in death by his grandfather Jerry, whom he was named after and whom we know welcomed him with open arms back to his heavenly home.

A private memorial service in honor of Benjamin will be held in Saratoga Springs, Utah on Friday, November 20th at 2:00pm. In keeping with current community and governmental guidelines, there will be a virtual attendance option for those outside the immediate family who would like to participate remotely. Benjamin’s little body will then be laid to rest on Saturday, November 21st in the Burley, Idaho cemetery with his grandfather Jerry.

Our family expresses deep and sincere gratitude for everyone who has been there for us during our time of need. From neighbors and family and friends, to the first responders who tended to our angel boy, and to those helping us make his final arrangements, our hearts are filled with gratitude that words can’t adequately express. “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto the least of these, my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
